Not but a few months later, I did something absolutely stupid because I just wanted a group of people to notice. My stupid self-esteem would not allow me to believe that they liked me for me, and I would ring them up through my register at work and only ring up half their items. Of course, I got caught. Out of fear, I never told my parents and attempted to go to downtown Rochester on the city bus to get fingerprinted and booked on the charges without telling them. Prior to my appointment at the courthouse, Emily and I spent the day at Metro Center Mall. After lunch we went to the record store when I noticed we were being followed by 2 young black guys. We ignored them while we continued to shop until they left. After buying my new Iron Maiden album, we took the escalator down to the first floor to try and find the bus we needed to take. As we were exiting the building, the 2 black guys approached us and said they would help get us on the right bus. My gosh were we naive. As soon as the bus started moving, I knew we were headed in the wrong direction. I tried to warn Emily that we needed to get off before the bus got too far, but they had convinced her that they just needed to stop at their house before they took us to the right bus. I knew we were in big trouble when we got off in the Alphabets of Rochester, but at this point it was already getting dark and I was too afraid to stay outside and followed them into the house where the horror began.
